So I went to one of many LUSH’s VIP Emotional Brilliance Launch Night, to give us a first chance to  look at the new make-up line and try out the Emotional Brilliance wheel.

There was cupcakes, buns, muffins and drinks for everyone that was there. They done a raffle; first prize was a LUSH Legends and second price was to win the three make-up products you choose through the wheel.

The wheel is something you can take with a pinch of salt; you don’t have to buy what you choose. In my opinion, it’s just extra fun you can have to choose some new make-up and possibly explore some colours options you wouldn’t have chosen yourself. As the wheel spins, you have to close your eyes and once the wheel stops, you open your eyes and pick the first three colours that jump out at you. I choose a Cherry Red called Decisive first, and this colour is meant to represent your talent. The second colour I chose was a Bubble Gum coloured Pink called Glamorous, and this is meant to represent your goal or aim. Finally, the third colour chosen was a Pastel Yellow named Lifted, and this is what you need to achieve your goal. In my eyes, mine really wasn’t that accurate. I’m not a very decisive person, the opposite in fact. I do however want to look better, but I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m aiming to be glamorous. But as I said before, it’s just some fun to have. “Glamorous” and “Decisive” were both lip glosses while “Lifted” was an eyeshadow, I didn’t think I was going to buy them but I sat down with them (There was a large table laid out with about eight chairs, completely with mirrors, applicators and make-up removers incase you wanted to take some of your make-up off to try some of the products out.) and tried them out on my hand because I didn’t want to take my make-up off. I loved the pastel yellow but I could never see myself wearing it all that much, and both lip glosses were a little too loud and bright for me. They were however, highly pigmented so you wouldn’t have needed to overload on each coat while wearing them. All three were very blendable too, which is a big point for many, so if the colours just too bright or you just want a toned down look, they’re easily blendable in able to do the look you want to achieve.

They also have mascara, a face powder and two skin tints in the range too. I tried out the “Feeling Younger” Skin Tint because I thought it would be a product I could mix with my current foundation and it would dial down the yellowness in it a touch. When swatching it, it’s very moisturising just like their moisturisers, but it’s not a scarily oily products, and I’m not sure it will work for the purpose I bought it for, but in saying that, I haven’t tried it out for that yet so I’ll have to wait and see. It does give a certain glow to the skin, it’s not a glitter or shimmer glow, it’s more of a brightening glow, so would be perfect for under the eye or even as a highlight.

Overall, the night was an ultimate success, I would’ve got more photographs but I was too shy to get my camera out and take pictures in front of a lot of people. Maybe next time. The sale assistants were knowledgeable about all the new products, as they usually are and we’re all so helpful regarding the cute system with the wheel and swapping ideas with customers on how to use the make-up in different ways.
